Hi Guys,
1970 6 cylinder OTS
Transmission was overhauled due to loud bearing noise.
Transmission worked just fine initially but then lost reverse.
Has only been driven 25 miles.
Now the shifter will not move into the reverse position.
My understanding is all the other gears work fine.
I am not a very good transmission guy so all help / input is appreciated.
(I may have an opportunity to purchase this car at a good price but need to explore this trans issue first.)
Thanks in advance

Transmission Problem
Figure in the cost of rebuilding the gearbox!

Transmission Problem
If all worked well then ou lost reverse I would see if the nut that holds reverse is loose or missing (it is on the outside of the case!

Hi all, new member here and a new E-type owner....a beautiful 1970 Ser 2 Roadster. We have literally owned the car for 72 hours and love the car. But we have found it difficult to shift into reverse. I have to sit and "stew" the gear box for about 5-6 minutes until the R gate is found and the car shifts into reverse. Sometimes I can't find the gate/gear at all. All the forward gears work fine.
A previous poster mentioned a reverse bolt located on the outside of the case. I don't wrench on my own cars beyond changing my own oil and filter, but I have a parking lift that I can put the car on and access the udercarriage. Is the reverse bolt something I can trouble shoot on my own? If it needs tightening is that something that would solve my issue?
Thanks and I'm looking forward to learning more about these very special cars.
