What is the proper clutch adjustment clearance for a 1970 FHC?
Also, can the transmission be removed without removing the engine? If so, how?

The only thing I could find is the Shoppe "Forum." Is that where I need to be?

Dennis go to the top of this page--you will see shoppe on the lower left in the green bar. Click there and you are in. The workshop manual is in "work shop manuals" but you might want to look around in there! After you are there it is all click and ship.

Trans can NOT be removed alone. Those that do that 1. cut the body which due to the construction of an E-Type is stupid--not dumb but stupid and 2 the job is still difficult and will not be correct--sorry. The correct free play of the clutch slave cylinder is covered in the workshop manual (you need one if you do not have one--see the JCNA shoppe) but in any case you need .75 " (19mm) of free play at the operating rod.
Dennis let's end the pain--give me a quick call on the tech line--I will answer 888-258-2524 ex #3. Geo.
