Upon sitting for a time (week or so)my 3.8L E Type will start and run for about 30 seconds than cut off. I can hear the fuel pump start up. When I connect a battery charger and charge to about 13.5v it will start again and run for another 30 seconds. After a number of attempts following this procedure it will start and continue to run as normal. That is until today when after running a couple of times it will not fire. Gas tank is full.

Chuck then I think you might want to pull the unit and check the armature and brushes--sounds like it might be worn and requires higher volts/amps to run--although it sounds like it may have now packed it in!
